The Block: “S&P500 companies will start investing in bitcoin in 2021”

The Block conducted a survey, according to the results of which experts in the cryptocurrency industry expect that already in 2021 some companies from the S&P500 index will buy bitcoin.

The survey involved 106 people. Only 2.7% of respondents said that no more than 1 company from the S&P500 index invests in bitcoin. 29.7% of respondents believe that the number of such companies will be from 1 to 4, and 51.4% expect this figure to be from 5 to 9 companies. 16.2% of respondents believe that more than 10 companies from the S & P500 will buy bitcoin.

Note that there are currently no companies from the S&P500 index that would buy bitcoin. It is quite possible that Square will be included in the index next year, which in October bought bitcoins for $ 50 million. Recall that the S&P500 index is made by Standard & Poor’s. The index consists of 505 companies with the largest capitalization listed on the US stock exchanges.

According to an earlier annual survey by The Block, half of the respondents are awaiting approval for a tradable exchange-traded fund (ETF) for bitcoin in 2021.
